Scythe Fuma 2 High Performance Quiet CPU Cooler

Scythe’s Fuma 2 features dual heatsinks to provide excellent performance and it’s supplied with exceptionally quiet Kaze Flex PWM fans.

Features

  1. Twin-Tower-Design
  2. Compact height without loss of cooling performance
  3. Flexible Fan mounting
  4. Equipped with reliable Slip Stream Series fans
  5. Intel and AMD compatible

The Fuma 2 follows the design principle of its predecessor and offers a powerful twin-tower cooler with a completely revised, asymmetrical structure. Six high-quality 6 mm heat pipes connect the two heat sinks to the solid copper base plate. All copper parts are nickel-plated. The asymmetrical alignment and a recess on the back of the second cooling block allow unlimited use of all memory sticks. The Fuma 2 is supplied with two PWM fans from the popular Kaze Flex series. In addition to a regular model, a new slim version with a frame width of 15 mm is used. The Fuma 2 uses the principle of the “Dual Fan Reverse Airflow” design, in which the fans rotate in different directions. This creates a higher static pressure as well as an increased and constant air flow. An additional fan can be installed to further maximise cooling performance. The fastening clips required for this are included in the product.

Twin tower design

The classic twin tower design of the Fuma 2 is not centered directly above the CPU socket, but staggered. This asymmetrical design offers maximum space for the memory sticks. The cooling fins of the second tower are designed in such a way that memory sticks on both sides of the CPU socket can be used without any problems, or reducing the effectiveness of the heat sink. Despite the enormous cooling surface, the Fuma 2 remains at a height of 154.5 mm and thus fits into most standard PC cases.

Dual Fan Reverse Airflow

The Fuma 2 CPU cooler is supplied with two fans, a Kaze Flex 120 and a Kaze Flex Slim 120, which rotate in different directions. This creates a higher static pressure as well as an increased and constant air flow. In addition, another fan can be installed for more performance. Corresponding fan clips are included with the product.

Kaze Flex PWM fan

Both the regular model and the new Kaze Flex Slim fan use a closed liquid bearing (Sealed Precision FDB), which thanks to a special oil film reduces friction and wear to a minimum. Rubberised contact surfaces have a decoupling effect that helps to prevent the transmission of vibrations.

HPMS III (Hyper Precision Mounting System III)

The Fuma 2 CPU cooler uses the proven HPMS III mounting system. A pre-assembled mounting bar with spring-loaded screws ensures a balanced pressure distribution. During the installation process, the flexible backplate is securely attached to the mainboard by rubber-coated spacers and makes the process considerably easier. The mounting system offers full compatibility with all sockets including AMD’s AM4 and Intel’s LGA 2066.

Scythe Fuma 2

,

Great cooler - bought for a 5700G APU and without major tweaking I’ve got 26.9°C temperatures on idle running KDE desktop on Gentoo Linux, that’s with several programs open. In Cinebench on Windows I got maximum 66-68°C running the 30 minute stability test. No tweaks from the factory, no overclock on the CPU I was getting around 4.335GHz on all 16 threads consistently. Previously on the stock cooler it would hit max 95°C and throttle. My benchmark was over 13700 whereas with stock cooling it was 12800. Quiet PC have followed up and made sure everything is good with the order, so all in all 5 stars.
