Gelid Solutions PWM Y Cable, Connect two PWM fans to one socket

The PWM signal input from the mainboard is used to control a series of connected PWM fans for optimal performance in noise and cooling.

Features

  1. Allows for two PWM fans to be controlled from one PWM socket
  2. Can be daisy changed together, to control up to five fans
  3. Cable length 350mm
  4. PWM fans increase cooling depending on CPU temp

Connect two PWM fans to your mainboard’s CPU socket. Use multiple Y cables to connect a series of up to five PWM fans and provide as much extra cooling as desired.

Power drawn into your CPU cooler is adjusted depending on its temperature. An idle CPU does not generate as much heat, requires less active cooling and hence slower fan speeds will be sufficient. Furthermore, this also reduces the overall ambient noise of your PC and it is handled automatically with little risk to your PC components.

While PWM fan controllers are very common in today’s PC industry and available on most mainboards, there is often only one or two such PWM headers reserved for the CPU and or the chipset fans. One way this excellent noise reduction idea can be extended to the numerous case fans inside a typical PC is by utilising this Gelid PWM Y Cable.

The 350mm long cable provides enough length to reach any location in your case.

“Nofan A480 and A430”

“Purchased two Nofan PC’s in early December, an A430 and A480, one as a present and one for my own use. Having now set both of them up, one with Win 7 and the other with Win 8.1. I decided to wait a few months, now getting on five, before writing this review, just to make sure everything is settling down okay.

Both machines were ordered with the Nofan CR-80EH Copper IcePipe.

So first off, I am very impressed with the build quality of these machines. They both seem to me to be more sturdy and solid than they look in the pictures on the website. Inside they are immaculate and completely free of unnecessary clutter and cables.

The design of the A480 is very innovative in that the cover, card slots and hard-disks can all be accessed without any tools. It just makes it all so easy and convenient.

To describe these PC’s as quite, would be an injustice. They are totally silent, which to me is bliss! There are no fans, or spinning hard-disks as SSD’s were used, The only moving part in the machines is the CD/DVD drive but that’s hardly ever used. I have since added a Palit GTX750Ti KalmX graphic card which is also fanless, so the PC is is just awesome!

This will probably not be an issue for most people, but I will mention it anyway. The person who received the A430 is electrosensitive and this was the first PC she has ever had that has not caused her a degree of physical discomfort. The processor I ordered was the Intel 4th Gen Core i3 4360T 3.2GHz 35W HD4600 4MB Dual Core CPU, which is highly efficient and runs very cool.

Lastly, attention to detail was also evident, in that someone took the trouble to provide an enlarged copy of the Windows Activation Code, which was almost illegible on the original Microsoft label.

All in all, this is an amazing piece of kit and a dream come true. One that I have waited decades for! Cannot recommend this company and its products highly enough.”
